Just when you think you’ve mastered everything, someone invents a new technique or revives an old one. In this case, it’s a bit of both. Fishing with carolina assemblies requires a slightly longer rod to handle the long leaders associated with this technique, and jig fishing is much easier with a long rod because it increases leverage when striking. The MBR 733 is excellent for both applications. Not to mention the new oversized crankbaits that anglers have incorporated to reach deeper areas. While you want a lighter tip to allow the lure to undulate naturally, you also want a bit more nerve to handle larger baits like the ⅝ ounce Fat Free Shad or big Bombers. It’s all about leverage, and this rod makes the job a lot easier.
