Designed for winter steelhead, where you need a bit more power due to the heavier weights needed to fish in high-water conditions, the StR 865-2 has enough power to fish Chinook salmon. It is also suitable for Zander / Pike-perch and Salmon fishing. Its action enables you to fight the fish without unhooking it. It’s a good choice for boat and shore fishing. It’s also a good alternative rod for Sea bass fishing and other intermediate fish.
